The leg itself has a short threaded rod welded in one end, and a plastic cap with an adjustable foot at the other. I undid the plastic foot, and screwed it through one plate. this made a plate that can be screwed to the table top. I needed to fix some thicker wood to the underside of the top, which I made from one of the bed boards that make up the bed. With the leg unscrewed, it can still be used for the bed as the fitting is underneath.
Then it was just a case of screwing the other plate to the floor, this is the plate the shorter thread screws into. I then just screwed the leg into the plate and hey presto! a removable one leg table for a fiver!! I think it's a bit high, but the plastic foot end screws into a plastic cap, which can be prised off leaving an open tube. This can be shortened.
