Mess van - battery guard

Postby duvet » Sun Oct 21, 2012 2:28 pm

I'm fed up with it cutting out and having to use a stick to turn the power back on to the back of the van when in bed.

I've seen battery guards for campers for £20 but anyone got an idea how the switch and wiring for the clarks conversion works, I have a thing against dismantling stuff without knowing what I'm getting into first.

Why is it cutting out? are your batteries getting to low? are they knackered?

This is the solinoid, To bypass it remove the huge red cables and join together

I believe the box below in my pic is what controls the voltage sensor

Without it you run the risk of running your batteries far to low, and damaging them, but by the looks of it I would say your batteries are knackered

you're right its the batteries are knackered - barely making 12.5v when fully charged.

going to to get a couple of new ones over the winter.
