Breakdown cover

Renewal time, ICS have decided that my hightop swb Mk5 is now 'too old' to have anything but their lowest cover. So goodbye to them and hello to..? Anyone recommend decent motorhome breakdown at a sensible price? I need full cover, don't care about euro cover as rarely leave the uk. I was paying £50 for their Silver policy, never had to use breakdown on either of my Mk5s so I'm loathe to pay much more Any recommendations gratefully received.

I you Green flag through my bank account and they have recovered me twice lol!! LWB HiCube!!

you need to join the RAC/AA. Thats YOU not the VAN. If you join them you are covered for anything you drive.

Green Flag are coming in at £82 which isn't too bad. RAC and AA are the dearest of the bunch, plus I have been badly let down by the AA twice before... but thanks for your replies

both the AA and RAC are not consistant. They can both be brilliant and the the next time crap. I am with em both, and have been known to'race' em

Green flag for me. Have always received 1st class service from them. Once they were 15 mins later than the operator told me they would arrive so they sent me a cheque for 10 quid.Good all round breakdown service with all the same qualities as the expensive alternatives.

RAC would not cover my Mk5 LWB high top. Best check out the dimentions and small print before you sign up.
Im with AA at the moment. But it looks like Green flag next year.

when you say they wouldnt cover your mk5, was that with you telling them in advance and did you join or just the van? Been recovered in a 22ft mk2 luton by AA and RAC though the RAC's length is supposed to stop at 18ft.

AA and RAC are meant to have the view that LWB are commercials only whilst green flag have no length limit.

Green Flag let me down once when i lost my 28ft caravan on the a303. They avoided recovering it home. other than that they've even relayed me 3 times in a day due to broken trailer.

Brittania Rescue for me. Been with them for almost 20 years and used them several times! I have one vehicle on cover which includes anyone driving or travelling in it, plus personal cover for me and SWMBO, which covers us for whatever vehicle we are travelling in.

I also joined the CSMA which gives a discount on breakdown and other Liverpool Victoria stuff.

lI broke down in my old mk5. When the RAC van came out he told me that I would have to pay for recovery due to the size of the van. fortunately my wife has basic green flag cover with her bank account. So the RAC got told where to go and got sorted with green flag.
The only reason im with the AA now is because we got free membership when we got the new car. Renewal up this year so I will be going to green flag.
They may not be the biggest but by jingo..............

Thanks for your replies, green flag seem to be getting the thumbs up... But please bear in mind that although this is a SWB Mk5, it is registered as a motor caravan and many breakdown companies either refuse to cover or they get funny about motorhomes
