Hi all, many thanks for all your help some good tips there. Iv'e already made a start and have done the roof and the sides, have used veltrim and it's quite easy to put on but cutting it soon blunts your blades I can see why you need plenty of them. I have used both spray on and brush on glue and I think the spray on is the better one.Next step is to do around the windows that's going to be fun.

OK, I think we may have established some of the pitfalls in carpet lining but obviously not all. On a slightly different slant, where are you guys getting your carpet from? Straight off Ebay and if so which one?

There are loads on ebay,but must say its worth paying a bit extra for the stretchy one...i didnt,it would of saved a lot of hassle round corners and in small gaps.
And doesnt need heating.

I got mine from http://harrisonstrimsupplies.co.uk who recommended 10 metres by two metres wide for a swb. And a can of glue for each linear metre.

I've just started working round the windows and it's going on reasonably well. I'm hopeless with the tools normally and although it's not exactly professional standard workmanship it is looking a great deal better than I expected, knowing my history. And once the big chunks are up it is sort of fun working the small sections into place. Not as much fun as some things you can do in the back of a van, but hey ho....

One thing I did discover, when glueing it all in make sure you open both doors. Why anyone would want to inhale that stuff for fun beats me. Anyway, the headache is easing off and I've stopped feeling nauseous now.

veltrim is more like wallpapering so my hint is to get yourself a good pair of dressmaking sissors like I have it makes cutting alot easier, hope this helps

Hi going to be using veltrim wall covering I have watched all posts with interest and have been impressed with all the pictured finishes.
I have a couple of questions before I start
1 how forgiving is it with very slightly raised self tapping screw heads
2 Can veltrim go under rubber window surrounds or does it have to be flush with rubber
Any other fitting advice or problems encountered appreciated.................Bruce

I am about to make a start trimming my van this sunday I have got mega stretch rather than veltrim as been told its better and easier to use , got from megavanmats .

I will post pictures when done .

I got the Mega Stretch Lining Carpet from megevanmats,i've done the panels so far and found it very easy and lots of fun to do. Still got the hard parts to do though,going to start that tomorrow.

As you can see from the last picture stretched nicely over uneven shapes which was foam to stop bashing your head and the the door aperture.

quite pleased with how turned out .
