Police came for a statement, so have given them his (given) name, eBay profile, mob number, signed receipt, and a google maps location of the property I bought it at. So I reccon they've got a good chance of locating im, dunno if they'll get anything to stick though.

They said they'll be in contact anyway, and what's extra offencive (but understandable) is that despite being a victim of fraud, I'm also implicated as a possible suspect!

Don't have the cages anymore, I gave them to the rspca.
Actually feel quite bad for the owner as I was making a good effort of removing everything from the back
I do have quite a few plastic panels from the doors and sides, they're pretty much junk but if anyone has any desire for them holla at me.

once enquiries show you didn't actually nick the van yourself and haven't made up a story about buying it from a dodgy scouser, you will be seen as a victim and a main prosecution witness.

as a victim so you should be getting the letters from victim support and witness care

if they catch the bugger you could even get some money back these days, justice isn't just about sending people to prison (i wish), giving out community punishments and fining them, since POCA the good guys can also take all the bad guys money away. scousers are less likely to have squirrelled all their ill gotten gains away in off shore mansions too

i would check if you have free legal insurance with anyone like house, car or union and have a chat about you chances

Cheers for all the support guys, i thought i was fairly safe too...
until the police turned up today to RECLAIM it. Turned out it was nicked from machester!

Needless to say I'm truly gutted, not just wiping out my savings but no van to work on, and just feeling plain foolish.
I would be crying myself to sleep tonight if i didn't have a night shift.

So guess that concludes my progress report...
Hopefully i'll be back some time for another go at it.

Speaking to my missus and she says "why don't you offer him that Transit you just bought"?

I have a 54 plate Transit sitting in Worthing with no MOT and Tax, I've had it running recently and driven it round the block, it would need the EGR valve sorting and the brakes. it also needs a bit of welding to the roof on the nearside.

Now this is all I've found on a quick run through, so there may be a few other problems but it seems pretty solid apart from that.

Its a medium wheelbase, high top in Ford metallic panther black, 54 plate 135BHP with 6 speed box and air conditioning.

I'm sure if a few others rallied round they could help you out a little too.



Now I'm not going to give it away for free but I reckon £500 would make it one cheap van.
