We have a touring caravan with a standard small Ariel and booster, job done easy to tune in etc.

With a 12v aerial booster and a standard 240v 19" tele fron tesco with built in freeview and dvd player. £119 I think for the tele.

I have a 12v freeview box which comes with a separate infra-red eye for the remote. I have the box tucked-up behind the dash with the infra-red eye poking out from the A-pillar. The arial is a DVB screen mounted one which is also 12v. It cost about £12 from Ebay. I have the freeview box wired-up to the reversing camera screen which clips on to the rear view mirror and also a flying lead into the rear of the van for a couple of 7" screens for the back seat passengers.
The freeview box was about £30. The rear view screen was £28 including the rear view camera. The rear screens were £25 each.
The screen mount arial is fine as long as you can get a good reception, much like any other antenna. If you want to watch tellyy whilst driving, you have to retune every 20 minutes or so depending on whee you are. Once parked-up, I usually get a full set of channels. Occasionally, it's better if I turn the van round! If the arial wasn't stuck to the screen, I could have just held it out of the window. All in all, it's a good set-up.

what i did with mine is for the tv i got one that a 240 v power pack that droped the power to 12v i now run it off the van aux battery for the ariel my mate gave me a 30 yr old omex golf ball wire type ariel i fitted a booster to it and use it on a magmount out of the side door at the time it was not so good bit hit and miss so i got a avtex one it was a bit better but not a lot but now the analog has been switch off and the power of the freeview has been boosted the omex works just as good as the avtex

guys fyi if you got virgin media's tivo, it will work without being plugged into the cable, you cant watch live tv but you CAN watch your recordings!!

load it full of your fav shows and take it camping! its the only cable box that boots up when not plugged into the network!!

taking mine to transitmania to keep my baby boy entertained when needed!
