zig Units and leisure batteries

I certainly intend on buying the biggest battery I can afford. Here are the best prices I found
100 ah = £67 / 110 ah = £71.50 / 115 ah = £69.50 / 120 ah = £80 / 135 ah = £110
I will be going for either the 120ah or 135ah. What kind of appliances I can expect to power with these and for how long?
Also how long does the engine have to be running to charge leisure battery up to full again?

did we ever find out where these battery prices came from the 115ha appealed to me

whilst we are bumping this thread, are the zig units any good, i have only ever done caravan refurbs before and they come with one, i did look at used or secondhand but cant find what i am looking for, any other makes other than zig on the market

For the prices people want I'd be making my own. Even a cheap chinese knockoff fetches £40 on ebay :/ An offcut of perspex or maybe a nice piece of mahogony (depending on van interior) with a few switches and gauges would be easy to do if you can use a soldering iron.

If I were to get another zig unit, i get a marque 1 (about £48). Small, simple, 3 switches + a battery meter.. Water meters can be mounted by the sink (or in place of the volt meter) and 240v requires its own box anyway.

If you get a zig cf9 or something that has a built in battery charger.. keep in mind the age of these units and the technological advances made in battery maintenance. + do you trust a 20 year battery charger.. alone.. in your van whilst youre in the pub?

well this is it really new or old good or bad, i think i will go for the home brew version as the old stuff and newer stuff does not appeal
