Hi, thanks. Spring helpers were already there but a lot flatter and we reshaped them with a oxy acetalean torch. I don't know if CI fitted them or a previous owner.

with the weather been dry and warm I've decided to tidy up and paint the inner wing that was repaired earlier this year.
armed with a aldi sander, filler and Halfords tins of paint.
the coil, ballast resister and starter solenoid have been mounted under the battery.
some of the wiring isn't the best so its been tided up, soldered, shrink wrapped and taped.

not done anything lately its still parked outside the house sulking, going to plug in hook up so i can top up the starter battery (i can do this via the zig unit) as starters getting tiered so the battery needs to be good.

Thanks Jono. Yeah could have been worse. they could have nicked the camper. it wouldn't be so bad if they nicked em to keep another transit on the road but I'm sure they will go for scrap.

progress is slow at the moment as the autosleeper is taking up any spare time. but have been colleting parts. now have a spare engine to rebuild then swap into it, a pattern drivers wing, new grille, got old fellas lady friend making some new curtains :D cheers sally, and someone has offered me some more front leaf springs so it will sit level (left to right) then ill get the originals refurbished for spares for either camper.
been up to shed to day and ran it up to temp. cant wait till we,re setting off to steam rally's with 2 mk1 campers :D :D

had chance to go and do a few things to camper but im limited to what i can do coz shed has no power or heat brrr.

things done.
stopped drivers side manifold blowing.
re-bushed clutch pedal. i think brake pedal has been done because pivot pipe will come out without taking clip off.
got hazards working. a loose wire in plug and a blown fuse.
got screen washers working. blown fuse and wire shorting out on bulk head.
fitted a ipod/cd radio.
pushed wiring grommets back into place.

made a start on rotten head light bowl.

new pedal bushes.

Having a little trouble with charging unit. Its a dead short from from live to earth. I've taken cover off looking for anything that could have shorted . I disconnected something that bolts on to the case and now it works. Any electrical wizards ? ImageImageImageImage
