Made it to flookbrough stream fair and back around 120 miles with out running out of petrol.
Retarded the timing and chucked in some redex before I set off and its running good, pulling really well. Havnt had to call the milk man out lol.

Yeah I'm happy it seems to be running really good. One of the rocker covers is leaking again. I cant get over the attention it gets at shows. A lot of people saying they drove the vans new or worked on the engines. They all say they can strip timing gears and wear oil pump drives but still a good engine like anything else if its looked after.

Put it away for winter . Works getting too busy, it dosent have any heat in camper part, don't want it getting covered in salt when they start gritting (it rots fast enough on its own) and someone's rammed a wheelie bin into camper body and left 2 big dents where handles have dug in.
Took it out for a run last weekend to a local preserved mill that steams its engine about once a month and just by chance there was also local stationary engine and MG club. A lad said he had never seen a mk1 transit before and asked if it was worth more than a VW!

With the van off road for winter I've started looking for bits and bobs. I want to put in a low back double passenger seat from a transit up to mk3 but the drivers seat is shot. All of the linkages for the hieght adjustment is worn and has loads of play so I was wondering if a smiley drivers seat would bolt in ? Seams to be still plenty of them about.

I seem to think they are mk6's in mine if i remember rightly. A few bolt holes but great, only problem is the loss of access to the back though :)

Is your drivers seat a mk6 jono ? I can't decide what to do for best. Did wonder about fitting 2 mk6/7 seats on battery boxes.
Not sure what will look good and work well.

Maybe better putting the drivers seat in on the frame (keeps mobility for other drivers and short legged mechanics) maybe unframe the double, make it a tipping base and place batteries underneath? The only other problem is the fixed position of the double

Maybe have the double with a flick forward back rest...extra seat in the back when camping then :) and yes, all three seats match
