Roof transplant ? That is mad. I wouldn't have the bottle. Looks like you have a good base there.

Why mad? I mean I know I'm mad, but what's particularly mad bout roof transplants? There's a few have done it on here & its been suggested that the green van has already had a change of roof at some point, which means it was probably a semi high like the blue one :)

You cant live in a semi high van without continuous concussion :(

so looks like the green beasty will get broken up then?? bet there may be a fight for the side windows.
someone else did a roof transplant as well not long ago but that was a low roof swb which they cut and shut a high top roof..you can also put a sky light in at the same time..

There's a skylight already in the green van's roof  All the insulation, lining etc is there in the green one as it was my almost constant live in van for six years...its just a matter of getting it all transferred to my new one :?

Mad as in a big job to undertake. But I'm a novice so it would seem mad. I will be watching with interest.

Easy enough to remove the fibreglass top if careful as its just bonded in place but careful cutting of the steel gutter will allow it to come off and be cleaned up to fit the other one or just remove the spot welds in the guttering on both roofs and reweld/bond as needed not forgetting the black rubber thing over the screen which hides the fibreglass roof join..
I am sure i read somewhere the high tops were added after the factory had made the van up but without a roof just the cab section roof.

Sounds just bout the way my mate described the roof/cab space, the way it was done in the factory. Looks like there's no one on here wants the job though & I cant hack it living in a semi-hi, so I'll have to ask on other groups, maybe a few hippy dudes could help....MOT next week...see how it goes & I might end up re-selling her

Must have been raining for nearly a month :( Climate's not gonna change back...might have to give this job to someone else with a covered workshop. These lot do have, but its occupied by a job that'll pay ten times more than mine  Shame because they've done a really gone job so far & have the roof all set to go on the bus, you can see its gonna work fine...I cant wait
