fridge cooling

i have a elecralux fridge in our camper question how long dose it take to get cold from being sat around for a week or to
not including driving with 12 volt on

Bloody ages if its empty, the best way is to put something frozen in there and run on 12v, If going away and loading the fridge first I tend to put my chilled stuff in and then a bag of ice cubes, then switch it to 12v, and that works a treat

took fridge out yesterday and sat in garden it frooze. after a while late last night i brought it in doors and left it by the open back door and it started to cool down the temp was up full but the water in side the freezer section started to thor ive turn fridge u side down for a while . ive put it back in van and it wont freeze this is all on 240 it dose the same with the gas
any ideas the only thing ive not tired is my right boot is my fridge giving up

If its a built in one check insulation around the flue pipe which tranfers heat to fridge to get process going is all tight and sealed .Mine was same in my camper resealed insulation with some silver foil tape good as new although never found 12V that good needs 240 or gas from standing start 12 V will just keep it going

all works fine when out side but as soon as it gose in doors or in van it get worse

hi ! your not getting enough heat away from the rear of the fridge , so the inside of your fridge won't cool enough ! you need vents through your van wall to get rid of the heat . that's why it won't get cold enough !

Not enough ventilation, to keep it cool, there needs to be vents below and above the fridges for it to dispearse the heat it generates

it dose the same in house as in van when in house with door open how much more venting can it have
