Been up to camper today. Chucked 2 gallon of petrol in, took pipe off lift pump and sucked up fuel then put pipe back.
Drop of fuel into carb and after a couple of coughs and splutters it was running.
Only thing was it wouldnt rev, could maybe get 1/4 revs with light throttle. Any more would make it judder and die.
Then it stopped and wouldnt restart .

Will have to investigate tomorrow.

Had a nosy round. Fuels been pumped to the carb and will run if i drip petrol into in take.
Hoping to get finished at a normal time then go and take carb off.

Havnt had chance to get near it till dinner time today.
Took top off carb thinking float might of been stuck, i ve never had a carb in bits before so when i lifted top off heard a hiss and thought its sorted its self and its free. Turned out to be some scale that had gor stuck in the jet.
Cleaned float chamber out and filled it with fuel, stuck top back on and its running well again. Image

Won a cheap vw t4 drivers seat off ebay earlier on in the week so went to pick that up and set about trying to make it fit.
The floor is ribbed and one side on the base was sitting on a raised rib so ended up cutting 10mm out the side of the base.
Chuffed with it coz its a few years since i had a bash at welding Image
Gained some under seat storage and have room for a eberspacher when i can afford one. Image

Image
Tempary b&m seat cover on.

Was looking at chassis plate and remembered seeing a chart on here and after quick search i found out it was built in sept 76,had a look on log book but it wasnt registered till 22/1/77.will have to wait till 2018 for free road tax

The picture is abit of a con. It was the picture taken for the add when we bought it.
I think it had been resprayed when previous owner sold it 1st time, then i think they bought it back a few years later before selling it too us
Rust is showing in places now. Gathered a few bits and pieces last year but dont want to start until have panels to finish.

Newly married, we toured Europe for 3 months in 1977 in a Mk1 Camper (Reimo) ... so have a soft spot for the Mk1. Looks like a 'proper' van!
Some internals would be nice whilst you have the camera out!

Sorry no pictures tonight.
Got abit carried away.
Fitted ldv seat belts this morning then took vw seat and base out to paint where to base had been cut and welded.
Started cleaning camper part out but ended up vaccing every cupboard out and washing all plates, pots, pan etc.
Then with having to keep little lad occupied and making his dinner then taking him to his mums, helping me dad with the autosleeper, then running him to the pub and having a couple too i havnt cleaned out side yet.

Still no pictures sorry.
Managed to wash it last weekend and take out the little wash room corner basin.
Been flat out with work trying to get everything finished for me sisters wedding and my holidays.
To night we decided to take it over to chipping steam fair so its on show for Saturday when we arnt their then hopefully we will go back in the autosleeper on sunday.
Left it ticking over outside house, came back and it had stopped and wouldnt restart. Filled up with petrol and it was stood 10mins coz some dottery old cow made a mad dash to till with a trolly full of food in front of me . Bloody petrol stations./super markets. Wouldnt start . Managed to upset a lady driving instructor coz she pulled on to pumps at the back of me that were out of order then she was waiting for me to drive off, in end she pulled round and gave me a gob full about standing and talking blocking petrol pumps.

Pulled on to rally field got held up waiting for steward, got half way across field, changed into 2nd gear to get a run at some soft looking patches and it died again.
Leave it to cool it goes half a turn and idle's with no choke or throttle.

Noticed last night while driving i got a true reading on the fuel gauge and the temp gauge went to the middle, then the petrol gauge dropped to around 3/4 but the tanks full and temp back into the blue but the heaters hot.
I thought it was the tank sender that was duff but could this be the voltage regulator?
