Hi,
My MKY SWB is already plylined and I want to put some insulation behind the ply. I have the chance to buy sheets of closed cell foam, approx 6ft x 3ft. Two thicknesses available, 1" and 1.5" and it's not that heavy. They're normally used for insulating military aircraft and I'm hoping to get 4 sheets in return for a few pouches of tobacco. I tipped some water on a cut off yesterday and the water ran straight off which I hope makes it suitable for my needs unless someone can tell me different?
I'm planning on cutting it to size and just dropping it behind the plylining from the top, am I better off removing the ply and glueing the foam to the inner skin of the van. Would I be better off buying something else with a foil backing?
If I get it and it's not suitable I'll just use it as a mat for when I'm sleeping in the van at bike events.
