The Big purple people Eater

Postby gruntyv8 » Sun Dec 09, 2012 3:31 pm

Things changed in the transit ownership front and the old works van was outed in favour of a luton so a build has started.
Found on evilbay and too much was paid but i was getting desperate for a van so it will have to do and the problems will get sorted later.
But for now it is build time, unfortunatly I dont get much time as life is pretty hard at the mo as things have just gone crappy but thats another story...
So..

Roof has started being insulated so hope to get that done this week then I can start wall covering and really thinking of final layout.

What a good project. Doing a LWB hitop, a luton gives so much more scope though. You god plenty of room and the advantage of square sides lol. Look forward to seeing more pics

Love it, I have considered retiring my mk6 luton at some point, and have thought about converting that, as although I love my mk7n camper I want more space.

Bet the log burner keeps it nice and warm.

Burner is great, super toasty in 5 mins :)

Using an electric convector ad we have hook up and it ant get it anywhere near as warm. Leaving very shortly so dont want burner lit.
I am going to shrink chimny to 4 inch though as at present i cant keep gire in ovrrnight.
Still learning :)

mate fit a butterfly valve in the chimney near the base of the chimney to act as a damper/throttle

needs to be a decent fit but still easy to turn and a heavy handle/knob at 90 degrees to butterfly should help balance it to stop it keep falling open or closed!

will the egr one fit?
