Mk6 underfloor water tank?

Postby firstimer » Sat Dec 22, 2012 9:58 pm

I have a home converted 2004 SWB camper van, mods carried out by previous owner. The interior is quite well converted, but the cold water supply relies on a small plastic container under the sink. I was thinking of fitting a larger underfloor tank; I've seen one advertised (but I can't find the ad now) and was wondering if anybody had an underfloor tank.

If so,

where did you fit it?
Was it difficult to fit?
Who supplied it and how much did it cost?

Any suggestions gratefully received.

Or check out CAK at Kenilworth, they'd have a tank that would fit the bill.

I have a 70l one on my mk7 just behnd the drivers seat area, under the van, I used some long threaded bars which wnet through the pre drilled holes in the chassis rails and made up some brackets to hand the tank from, then used 2 more long threaded bars under the tank to hold it in place

Don't forget to insulate the tank and pipes.

Hi AK,

I'm going to fit a 70l tank under my MK7.

I'm looking at the the Fiamma one:-

Is this the one you have?

I would love to see a photo of your installation, I've looked under my van and I can't figure out which pre drilled holes you used.

Regards,

Paul

I'll see what I can do tomorrow for you, but don't hold your breath as I might not be in any fit state to do anything tomorrow.

Won't be able to show the pump etc, as its in a closed cupboard, but i'll try to get pics of how the tank is hung

Hi AK,

Pictures of how the Tank is hung would be PERFECT, please don't worry about the pump pictures, but I'd be interested to learn what pump you went for.

Sounds like you are planning to celebrate the New Year, have a great night.

Hope to hear from you next year.

Regards,

Paul;
