some guys had requested a few photos of my build, so hope these are ok, i never done a blog or any thing just the odd piccy now and then,
we started winter 2009 with a LWB MED ROOF FWD which looked like this,
with it stripped out and clean god know how many times we got to this but still needs more cleaning
Did you notice the seat change?
any how the plan which was in my head was scibbled down,
time to start then, roof battons and vents, the front one is a mushroom type,
then panels
now electrics in ducting make sure you put some extra pull strings, i learnt this to late
start of the panels i used 6mm ply with 20mm celotex and 3mm ply all glued to gether in a sandwich, and never went with the curve of the van, straight up to this height then straight to roof, you lose a bit on the sides but hey it made the frame building easy, which was my plan EASY BUILD
ok where to put the fridge, not easy but managed, look we even got heating, the misses wasnt happy when i said it was done,

next cupboards made, all they are is 2x1 batton frames covered with 3mm wall board from magnums,

i bought all my gear from them i was with the SBMCC so they give you a 10% discount,
make a list of all you need tell them they get it ready for you and before you start drive your newly own van over to hull and collect it all,
and listern to what they advise you about they know it all,

by the way you will need plenty of ventilation glueing the lining on or you get a cold sweat and funny feeling and have to sit down coz its one hell of a trip you end up on
now heres the real tester of patience,
if you can do this with out swearing ,throwing your dummy out and thinking F**k this im off to buy a ready made one,
you got some patience, well i got it done don't ask how otherwise i will end up in rehab just thinking of it
ok the seat boxes, as i have said before they are 2 of 2x4 foot frames with 1/2 ply sides, with ikea bed slats,
the slide out one is easy to make, its just a false front frame with the slats screwed to it and a 1x1/2 batton on the end of them underneath to stop it pulling all the way out,
i have promised to take some photo's next time in the yard to show it,
dont forget to leave a 3/4 gap between the boxes for the side to slide back in, and if your smart enough make the cushions an 1" bigger your legs dont catch on the edges and when the bed is made up its 4" longer, makes up to a 6'4" x 4' bed just right for us lanky gits
the last 8 photos are the ones sent to DVLA to get it reregistered on the V5 to MOTOR CARAVAN,
they said this is what is needed,
just send the photos and a letter saying what you have done change the form send them ALL to them and wait 3 weeks,
i sent mine got home and found the letter written to them on the table, i had forget to put it in the envlope so all they got was the V5 and me photos,
they must of been happy coz they never got in touch with me just sent me V5 changedto a motor caravan, was it needed to be changed? the only difference is i can do 70 on a duel carrageway,
i beleive they are a bit fussy nowadays and only change them to a van with windows, not sure on that though,

i am already thinking of it, but fancy driving to morroco through france, spain and portugal when i pack up work so maybe a second hand coach built might be next unless i can plan a bigger build, dont shoot me but maybe a fiat ducatto xlwb h2 only maybe still a blue oval man through and through
