Electrolux RM212 gas igniter module wiring

1988 Autosleeper Flair - MK3 Popular 100 base

Fridge operates on 12 and 220 volt yet not on gas.
Habitation check suggested failed electronic igniter.

Have found all four connections to igniter on fridge top to be severely corroded at connection to mini-spade female terminations.
So bad that they all broke away on lightest touch, leaving females engaged/stuck on module male spades. Whitish residue corrosion.

No problem re-terminating three wires from the neon power switch to reconnect to igniter.

However, thin wire to the igniter was to an exact length, which leaves little or no room for new termination and reach igniter module.

This is a very very thin stiff wire, not multi-strand as the other normal 12v cables, it is not sheathed against heat.

What type of wire is this, going down to the pilot light ,and can I extend it with some multi-strand normal wire to lengthen it a few inches
without compromising operation?

Any info gratefully awaited.

Apparently, being an electrode wire it is some type of higher grade silver wire.

Found a really thin copper wire, part of an old Saab loom, to extend the electrode wire a few inches.
Latter was a nightmare to strip away insulation, very pliable/elastic, probably me, the inner wire was silver colored.

Additionally the middle and particularly the bottom of the three spades at the rear of the neon on/off switch were badly corroded.
This jives with a forum entry where faulty operation was repaired by cleaning up the bottom terminal connection.

Neon switch now flashes and spark is visible at the internal observation window yet no flame.

Understand from googling that burner jet or, even flue can be blocked (soot), and tales of removing fridge and standing upside down
for 24 hrs to promote reversal of gas/liquid circulation abnormalities.

I`ll let you know how I get on, any other ideas as to what to check would be gratefully received.
