Birth of the Kermitmobile

Last week picked up the Transit 190 LWB minibus from a local school. Now begins the transformation, the hole in the pocket and the fun!

Saves a paint job! Plus allows me to be a kid.

the plan is:
driver +2 in front
2 passenger seats (+1)
sofa/bed
kitchen (left hand side)
cupboard and toilet (right hand side)

Fun and games with insurance this lunchtime. Went for the Camping and Caravan self build motorhome insurance. Very reasonable, the only problem is I have 120days to complete the project. Game on.......

good luck, 120 days sounds good for now but how advanced are your plans?

Incidentally, when I was in the Self Build Motor caravan Club their insurance also had a 120 day limit but it could be extended if you could show continual progress and an end was in sight.

Touch wood, progress is good. Made seat unit tonight. Second one cut and will be assembled tomorrow. Power cupboard and kitchen over the bank holiday. Pretty good progress at the moment, weather is helping. The plan has changed from the initial plan as DVLA want a 6ft bed and the van is only 5.5ish ft, grrrrr. Seen a raised 6ft bed so that is the plan now.
