Quick question :)

Postby AJ_Bulletcatcher » Sat Jan 11, 2014 7:57 pm

Heya guys, I was wondering if someone can answer me a couple of questions.

I have a tourneo which currently has a rear row of seats, I use it for sleeping in when I attend paintball events. I can fit a double air bed into the space at the back currently but have a rather tall boyfriend who needs that bit of extra feet room. I first had the thought of having a rock and roll bed for the rear row of seats so that I can still carry passengers if need be but from what I have found these need to be crash tested to do so. Can someone tell me if thats correct?

Also if I decide to just go down the route of removing the rear row of seats and putting in a pull out bed and cupboard area that wouldnt be classed as a camper conversion would it as it doesnt have an onboard water container or cooking area?

Thank you in advance for your help :)

Would not be a camper as more requirments you would need to qualify as a camper , you would be a day van I would expect ...dvla would class it as a van with windows I would imagine .

Q 1....Yes a R/R bed needs a lot of paperwork to satisfy your insurance company.....

Q 2...Your van would not qualify as a Camper/motorhome....

My immediate thoughts were, get a shorter Boyfriend or....

If that is not an option, make him sleep with his feet out the window

The middle row will fit the other way round (backwards), if you do this you could make a bed up so it's the same height as the seat.
