Best way to fix ply panels.

Postby Frosty3006 » Sat Feb 08, 2014 11:26 pm

Hi guys,

Am doing some woodwork tommorow and will be making ply panels and the floor. Im looking at covering the panels as well as the framwork with carpet so that I have access to the ply panels and they can be removed. Im wondering what the best way to fix the panels is? I dont mind have screw heads in the panels as I will probably use a dark coloured carpet and therefore black screw heads will hopefuyll go unseen. But Im slightly worried about drilling into the metal panel work , Id rather not! There dosnt seem to be any holes I can already use so this seems the only way. Anyone got any tips?

Simple work I know, but Im just always over cautious of lots of little holes in my panel work!!

Could use Gripfill or Sticks like sh*t or any other strong adhesive

Are you asking about fixing side panels that you want to make removable?? And what van is it.

First thought would be to bond timber to the panel work so you can screw into that.

Just screw the ply to the van with countersunk screws, job done.
