So i've had the welding done on the van, had some spring hanger bracketts fabricated as the Ford spares were £158 each plus vat and the job now done will probably outlive the rest of the van.
There were a few holes that appeared on the floor when I got to work with the grinder



I really went to town with the red oxide paint, any scratch or slightest bit of bare metal got it, LOL

The rear lip was covered in a thin layer of concrete as a result of it being a double glazier's van previously so I took that back to bare metal and rust proofed that too.



Then some insulation work, the foil backed bubble wrap first or as my brickie neighbour tells me it is called TL2.

Followed by rokwool type stuff.



I have recently been told I should not use the glasswool type insulation as it attracts and holds moisture reculting in the inner floor panels rotting!! anybody know if this is true??

have used two layers of the bubble wrap in mine put first layer on with foil against skin of van to deflect cold
and then did another layer foil inwards to retain heat got to say used it all this year
never been cold and by doing it this way has an air gap between insulation and lining in van
for it to breathe not had any condensation issues

I've put rockwool in some of the more awkward spaces and have had no issues with it getting damp.

I am now selling this van as I have crossed over to the dark side and got a Sprinter lol.
I have taken out the kitchen unit but everything else is as in this thread.
It needs the head gasket doing and has a crack in the windscreen, got about a months MOT left and quarter of a tank of diesel ha ha. Just spent £180 on a new oil cooler and £420 on the welding as mentioned above.
Been quoted £400 for the head gasket, mechanic told me it is worth a grand as it stands, will accept a bit less for a quick sale, make me an offer if you like.
