Gas pipes

Postby screechowl » Sat Oct 11, 2014 12:47 am

I would like to have a gas fire on one side of the van & an oven & maybe a 3 way fridge on the other side. Is there any way I can do this without having two gas bottles, one on either side? It's been suggested that the gas pipes can go over the roof behind the boards or anywhere?

Just run a copper pipe underneath the van screesho bit of gaffer tape ,cable tie sorted
LPG is heavier than air so if it leaks a lot it won't be a problem as it goes down unless you are sat underneath the van having a fag

Buy a manifold, which takes one pipe from the bottle, and has a number of valves outputs for the different appliances
As said run the pipe below the van, clipped to chassis

Yeah I've got the valves for two appliances. Never thought of it going on chassis  Chassis's get all sorts of crap on them & then corrode  What about the salt/grit in winter?? Sure it would be safe? Be great if it was :D

I agree along the chassis, clipped, remember to vent the fridge and cooker to outside too.
your fire will sink in the floor to underneath van, like in caravans, so guess you will have some careful planning on where you put that, after all you don't want to start cutting and realise your on top of your spring hanger.
I also put a 25mm plastic tube near bottle which was set in a sealed box to as low to ground as possible.
This vented out and under van as Gas is heavier than air if leaked.

You can buy plastic coated copper pipe in most hardware shops, plumbers merchants, comes in 6mm, 8mm, and 10mm, same as what's used on autogas kits.
