Steel bulkhead removal

Postby elliptical » Fri Oct 17, 2014 4:31 pm

Hi
I have searched for this topic but can't see it anywhere - but apologies if this has been addressed before.

I have a LWB Mk6 which I have converted the back of into a camper arrangement. The next step is to take the bulkhead out and fit some swivel seats - I have undone all the bolts from round the edge but it seems like the major plate of steel only goes to about 12 inches off the floor where another piece comes up from the floor to meet it - I don't mind leaving the bottom bit in for now but i really can't see how to get the top section out - is it really just brute force once the bolts are out?

I'm used to dealing with motorcycles so am a little too delicate in my dealings with the van.

I'll post some pics later as I don't think I've described it very well - but any help appreciated

Cheers

Alex

Just unbolt it and pull it out. Make sure you get all the bolts though!
Sometimes they have a bit of sealant round the edge
