Do water tanks fit under the horizontal brackets or between

Postby YogaMonkey » Tue Oct 28, 2014 1:50 pm

Hi campers!

So I'm about to put water tanks in my Ford Transit LWB 2005 high top but I don't understand where they will go.

Do the water tanks fit under the horizontal brackets or between them?

See photo of behind my driver's step to see the shallow horizontal brackets I'm talking about

The question now is: How far from the ground must the tanks be for safety from speed bumps etc?

Does anyone have photos of where you have placed yours and links for where you bought them?

Thanks in advance!

I have an L shaped stainless one I had made that fits behind the axle its as low as the diff as wide as the insides of the chassis rails and goes up to the floor after the crossmember holds about 180 litres
So what was the question again
Just realized it won't fit on the new van
oh bolloxs

Wow, a van with that fitted must be worth at least £6000. Are you ever going to sell it??

Diamond white, rare and unusual. High demand for that £6,500 now.

I found this: http://www.vanbitz.co.uk/Water-Tank---5 ... 9/3009.htm

It looks interesting and supposedly fits MK6. I have a 2003 Jumbo but I haven't got under the van with my tape measure yet to see if it really will.

Anyone had experience with this tank?

450mm wide wouldn't do my van. I went with CAK tanks in the end. Expensive but at least they put all the fittings on free.

I took two of my ribs out ready to fit my tank, but didn`t get round to do it before the mot. Went straight through no problem.
