Ex welfare van electrical problems

Postby geomorri988 » Sun Jan 11, 2015 8:40 pm

hi all,

I've got a 2005 mk6 190 rwd former network rail welfare van, I'm having problems with my aux 12v system in the backIt has the usual Alphatec auxiliary 12 volt system, with two leisure batteries & isolator switch in the cab. It runs lights, eberspacher heater, microwave, handwash, & water heater.

I changed 1 of the batteries recently and since then it's not worked, I have the isolator switch on the dash flashing as it should when it's isolated, but there is no click when I go to turn the system on. I have also noticed the ammeter is not moving at all and there is a voltage drop from 12v to 4v at the solenoid but overall there is no power to the rear switches.
All fuses are good.

Any help is greatly appreciated.

They stopped building the 190 in 1999. So should we presume it's a 350?

If you press the battery guard switch, does it do anything?
