Fitting a rear Tourneo heater matrix into a van

Postby fozzieswb » Wed Feb 11, 2015 9:25 pm

Hi all has anybody fitted the rear heater matrix from a Mk 6 Tourneo into a van?

I have fitted a fourth seat in the rear, cut the bulk head in half and was thinking of ways to heat the back. Has anybody fitted one and want to offer their advice.

Regards

Should be pretty straight forward, fit unit, drill two holes, run pipes to engine bay (15mm copper will work fine) tee into heater pipes in engine bay, run cables to power fan, and electric valve for temp control, although you could just fit a manual valve to turn heater off in summer

Cheers Ake, I have the matrix, the pipe work that runs underneath, the control that fits in the roof lining along with the roof lining and a bag full of water pipes that were removed from the tourneo. Unfortunately the aircon pipes have been cut and I don't have those but I suppose it could do without.

Im just trying to decide if the hassle is worth it just for a bit of heat in the back. I have had a 4th seat fitted in the rear and cut in half the bulk head and plan to get the inside re lined, insulated and carpeted. I have the roof lining that came from the tourneo to fit in the rear with some dynamat and thin insulation to improve the sound deadening.
