Roof Bed, in a transit high top

Postby weetransitcamper » Thu Apr 23, 2015 2:03 pm

Hey

With my wee transit only being a 2 berth was wondering if its possible to make a slide out roof bed, anyone ever done it, couldnt see anything via the search section.

Thanks

You would have to be carefull you don't roll over in it and fall out of the bed off the roof into the road
Especially if you are driving down the motorway

That would be an issue, but i think the bed would be better on the inside ;)

There is a build thread on here somewhere with a roof in a high top.
Will have a look later.

Probably the most amazing build thread ever.

The bed starts at page 21

That is amazing but a little too complicated for me to achieve!

I was just thinking wooden slats like this

The slats idea is pretty much the same idea as ever swb 4 berth van ever made.. Its just a question of weight and strength of materials.

Look up some 4berth swb transits like the Nugget or Frontier.
Livin' in me van in Portugal.
