Ex Network Rail Eberspacher

Hi. I wonder if anyone's removed the Eberspacher heater from a Clark's conversion Transit. I bought the van and have removed the seats and the 'facilities'. I would have kept the heater, but the pump is missing, and it wasn't connected anywhere anyway. (In fact, the seller had removed the leisure battery and Battery Guard, though most of the wiring remains! Even left the microwave, yet it wouldn't work.)
Anyway, before I start building benches etc., the Eber is in the way. I've looked under the van, and there seems to be a welded pipe where the Eber sits. I'm a bit worried about just ripping it out, as I may be left with a gaping hole! Anyone have similar experience with Eber removal from one of these conversions? Any ideas greatly appreciated!

Yes you will be left with a gaping hole. It will want a bit welding in.

Thanks! Yes, I thought I would have. I was hoping there was some way of avoiding that, but I'll just have to find a way of filling and sealing it!
