Just noticed that my van has two batteries, is this standard equipment?

Presuming it's rwd then yes
It was optional on fwd

Mk 7 has twin batteries :shock: both under bonnet?

Mk6 and 7 batteries are under the drivers seat :wink:

Rear one is a dedicated start battery, and the front one powers everything else :wink:

The idea is that if you flatten the front battery by leaving something switched on, it will always start because the starter is isolated from the electrics until it's running :mrgreen:

That's Mk7 BTW, Mk6 has the batteries connected together, if it has two :wink:
