Can anyone recomend an awning for my custom I want to eventually turn it into a camper but we are going to the IMM this year and will need somewhere for the kids to sleep so I'll hane to get one before actually turning it into a proper camper !

just follow the onscreen instructions and it's fairly idiot proof...trouble is, we keep producing better idiots

I think Wadey is referring to drive away awnings - the big clip on "tents" that attach to the side of your van, but can be left erected on a campsite when you drive down the beach for the day, rather than a simple sun/rain shade.

Like these:

I don't really know what's a good one, but Vango and Outwell make them (amongst others) and I have owned and highly rated their family tents over the years.

Maybe hit the big camping/caravanning stores when the season starts around Easter, and have a look at a bunch of them all set up? That way you can see exactly what you are getting for your money. That's what I'd do anyway!

I looked at a few awnings before deciding on a Vango Kela Airbeam. Really quick to put up and has been perfect so far. It attaches to the cadre rail on my omnistor pull out awning but there's a few different ways of connecting it to the van.

I had a drive away awning for the fun bus, it was good, but timeconsuming to build and dismantle, and heavy to carry about.

I sold it and got a Fiamma F45 roll out instead
