Newbie - Our new project!

Postby BaileyBoys » Fri Feb 23, 2018 8:36 pm

Evening All.

The last two days have seen us say goodbye to our beautiful VW T4, which wasn't really working for our family, and bring home this to convert over the summer. We've never owned a Transit before, but it ticks every box, was a bargain and is ready to go! :D

We have it insured on a camper conversion policy, so we have 12 months to finish. Our plan is to take our time to make sure the layout is right, as it may well end up as our only vehicle. The priority is passenger seating, so everything needs to work around that. If we can, we're hoping to use one row of the existing seats into some kind of bed/seat combo (if we can please the DVLA). Other than that, we have no idea how it will end up.

We are off to the NEC for inspiration tomorrow, and will be trawling the forums for advice!

Any pictures of SWB minibus conversions would be great!

Which insurers did you end up going with? The company I've looked at offers you 6 months to complete.
