changing position of crew seats MK 7 Welfare van

Postby iansmall » Tue Jun 12, 2018 10:39 am

Hi guys,

First question of many, I guess. Just looking at vans to convert to camper. Trying to make my life as easy as poss and get the right van.

How easy is it (and cheap) to change position of seats in the back?
I was looking at 3 Rear facing behind driver / table to keep kids amused on journeys.

Now, to fit everything in, I'm looking at swivel cab seats with 3 forward facing more or less straight behind with table space in between (see pic)

Do seats only bolt into certain points, or is there flexibility? If they can be shifted, it's going to mean I've got more vans to choose from. This is one im looking at tomorrow. 3 seats just need shifting forward a couple of feet. I bet theres a fuel tank in the way. There always is

You can mount them anywhere you want to just make sure the area is sound metal and use steel spreader plates under the bolts, the seats your moving should already have the plates in place just reuse them.

Yes the fuel tank will possibly be in the way but just drop it down while you redrill the holes and mount the seats. N
