Solar panel on an elevating roof

Postby kazoo_u » Sun Oct 21, 2018 7:49 pm

Just wondering where people's cables from a solar panel on an elevating roof run? Got an Mipv panel coming for my sca roof so think I'll see if I can stay out of the tent if possible.

The panel is on, unfortunately wasn’t able to keep the cable entry external of tent, but not going to make a massive difference. Also put a bead of sealant around holes but that probably isn’t needed. Just need to sort cable routing inside.

Looks neat,

Will you have to face the van in one direction to catch the sun with the roof elevated?

How many watts?

I'm a long way off converting mine yet (one day!), but just interested how people go about it.
Cheers

Not particularly, it will generate in general daylight but it will put more into the batteries if I do park it facing south to get the best out of it. It's 120w.
