Battery light

Postby Outtheway » Mon Feb 11, 2019 8:45 am

Hi guys, I have a 2010 Transit lwb. I fitted a split charge kit and leisure battery and everything was all good. Yesterday I fitted a 160w solar panel and charge unit and this morning on way to work I noticed my battery light was on, any idea why? Cheers Paul

I'm assuming your solar charger is connected to the leisure battery? I'm not familiar with the regulators on solar panels but if they supply more than ~14V I'd want mine isolated from the van's original electrical systems while the split charge relay is closed, ie. while the vehicle is running and the two electrical systems are connected together.
Drink moderately, eat healthily, exercise regularly, die anyway.
