Removing sliding door centre track

I want to remove the centre sliding door rail on the body (not the door) in order to clean and rustproof the body. We have a 96 Mk4 smiley based Horizon Camaro in mint condition. Haynes say that the centre rail is held on by nuts on the inside of the body skin. Given that any campervan has interior cladding.. in our case the one piece shower wall is in the way. Can anyone tell me if there is a rail system that is attached and fixed from the front.
