German Ambulance converting

Postby ERic_Transit2 » Sat Feb 01, 2020 10:18 am

Hi All.

I have a question what's the best start for converting my German Ambulance to a simple camper. On the internet I see a lot of people starting with Sound insulation & deadening material with a kind of alu coated bitumen (Reckhorn ABX). After that they use a thick isolation layer covering the cold metal. Floor also gets isolated.

My ambulance already has a wooden floor with linolium. The ceiling has headliner covering the bare metal. THe sides are covered up nicely but still are metal. Not sure what is inbetween.

Plan is to go to trackdays with my motorcycles for racing. Transport my motorcycle on a trailer. And sleep in the bus. In the future I'm also thinking of traveling longer in the bus.
What would you advice to do to make the loading space good for simple camping ? Remove all interior and start on the metal ? Leave (parts) like floor and side and start building on these parts ?

Thanks for your advice
