Battery to Battery charging D+ terminal location

Hi - I have a 2014 Custom Transit and because it's a Euro5 model with all that fancy voltage regulating circuitry, will be linking the starter battery to a leisure battery via a Votronic battery to battery charger (model VCC 1212/30). I need to connect one wire to the D+ terminal
which I am told is on the side of the alternator body. Has anyone done this? And is there any other more convenient take off point I could use, I've spent ages trying to talk to my local Ford (who are useless)
and on Youtube. I cannot believe no-one has done this. Any suggestions really appreciated.
