You are right, it does.
There is a socket under the driver seat, next to the starter battery that has the required D+ output on 1 of the 4(?) pins.
You can buy a special Ford lead for it, but it costs £££££ (also be careful that there are 2 versions which are presumably the 2.2 engine and then the 2.0 engine (may also be a facelift version, don't know) - mine is 2017, so is the 2.0l pre-facelift.
Alternatively, you can crimp a small connector onto it, which is what I did, works a treat.

The connector is shown in the BEMM if you have that - you can download it from the ford etis website.

Mine's a 2015 2.2 Euro 6 minibus.
I've heard of that connector in the battery box, but I've heard it's very hard to access.
And you need a special crimping tool and very small spade connector?

If you have a double battery set up could you run another battery parallel to the auxillary battery?

Just a thought?

I'd say safer to keep the leisure battery(s) separate from the vehicle batteries. Albeit at the expense of getting a B2B. Plus you can also make use of solar. I have to say, I'm so pleased with my own set-up. And I often see the solar is trickle charging the vehicle battery also.

When I thought I had a problem with my Sterling I decided to wire up the D+ terminal to get to the socket I removed the seat the batteries and the battery box located the correct wire on the plug cut it off and fitted a red insulated crimp on terminal I them put the batteries back in without the box turned the ignition on to check I’d got the correct feed then started the engine to check if Sterling was working then just a matter of putting everything back together.

Cheers Dumper. I just can't find the enthusiasm to do all that right now...
I'm tempted to buy the Votronic D+ Simulator Pro.
