Hi all, awaiting delivery of Mk8 H2 L3 hopefully in March 2022 ready for a Spring / Summer conversion so in the planning stage and after some advise on what recommendations are for underslung LPG tanks along with grey water tank, fresh water tank, Whale hot water heater, poss Chinese diesel heater all to free up as much space as poss on the inside any advise on pros and cons would be great thanks, still trying to find the best combination of heat and hot water that doesn't cost a kings ransom , had campers before but trying to go more off grid this time :D

Mine been a basic conversion and is for mainly wild camping the only thing on your list I can help with is the Chinese heater I wouldn’t fit that under the van if you look on YouTube they don’t seem to have the same water sealing as a Eberspacer I sswapped my fully working Eberspacer D3 for a Chinese one because a mate had fitted one and it was more controllable as you can set it on pump pluses per minute so doesn’t fluctuate on temperature.I’ve had this one from just before cv19 so has not had as much running as normal but I am well happy with it if it has a problem they are so cheap if it does play up in stead of repairing it it’s easy to just replace it for what it cost me to have the D3 overhauled when it was in my mk6 you can buy 4 of them.
The most difficult in fitting is dropping the diesel tank to fit the fuel supply and its best to get a Eberspacer tank kit .

Hi Dumper, Thanks for the info still cant come to a decision on the Chinese heaters price is the big pull but Murphy's law says it will break down when needed the most :x like you say for the price by a couple and use one as spares

I know what you mean I don’t completely trust it I have never run any of my night heaters when sleeping so I have a switch in-line to cut the power when not in use .
