Tourneo Custom Conversion

Postby OAPJinx » Fri Jan 14, 2022 2:30 pm

Here is my 2020 Tourneo Conversion

Started this back in the summer - almost finished just got to fit a DC to DC charger and then I am all good. Although to be fair think I will be constantly tweaking it.

Looks good mate, I’m just about to start on my Tourneo. Did you strip it and insulate the walls and roof?

I'm about to start on exactly this same process.
I've been looking at Harrison Trim Supplies for the sound deadening/thermal blind insulation requirements

https://www.harrisonstrimsupplies.co.uk ... dproofing/

But plan to use sheeps wool for the walls - used this in my last VW and it was fabulous. And, very sound deadening too. Hemp for the roof! It came as a kit from Amdro but due to the sheeps wool being available more widely these days, they no longer stock it.

Where are you sourcing the sheep’s wool from?

I was looking at this from B&Q for example...

https://www.diy.com/departments/knauf-i ... 146_BQ.prd

But... it is 10cm thick which is way too thick for the roof at least. May have to slice - or - keep looking for thinner rolls.
