Want to fit swivel - are these original Ford Seats?

Postby The combat wombat » Mon May 01, 2023 1:31 pm

I want to fit a swivel to the drivers seat on my Mk6. The Passenger side already has one, but it appears to be for a Mercedes driver side, according to the part number. Are these Ford seats? They look like it from looking on ebay, etc, but I want to make sure I order the correct swivel for it.

Other than the battery being below the seat, anything I should be aware of when adding a swivel kit? I will be buying a handbrake lowering bracket for it.

That is a photo of a mk6 when I fitted swivels to my mk6 it wasn’t a straight fit had to adjust the holes slightly.

Thanks.

When you say you had to adjust the holes, did you have to drill new ones in the base, or seat, or just widen them?

I'm looking at getting the FASP swivel which is for the MK6 so I was hoping it would be a straightforward process!

My one I think was a faspa it was 14 years ago if not it was the other well known brand after I sold my mk6 as a van and used most of the parts in my mk8 I did modify them to fit by drilling new holes or elongating them and welding on heavy duty steel washers.
