Leisure/stop start battery

I have a 2019 MK8, Custom campervan, professional installation when I purchased.

My start/stop works around one times in a hundred (if not less).

I studied the installation wiring on my van and the stop/start battery has been replaced with a leisure battery, the now new leisure battery supplies the camper vans electrics, fridge lights etc via my control panel.

So, the installer has used the stop/start battery space for the leisure battery thus removing the stop/start battery.

The vehicle battery has not been affected, ie no take offs etc.

Therefore, I assume this is why my start/stop doesn’t work as should be.

Question, how have others integrated a leisure battery into their vans with stop/start technology.

I have left the van as standard Ford and used a Sterling b2 b 30 amp charger to charge two 125 amp leisure batteries.if you’re van batteries are low on charge the stop start will not work and what you call the stop start battery is not the system is designed as when the engine is not running the auxiliary battery runs all the systems that are live all the time when parked up like central locking when you go to start the van and you turn on the ignition to start the van it clicks the relay to connect both batteries together to start the van it’s done so the van will still start if parked up fo long period of you have run the radio or interior lights for a long period
