Swivel seat base recommendations

As the title really, for my mk7. Ive seen some on ebay for as little as £35. And some as much as £200.
How do you know which ones are any good .

Magnum motor homes are doing CTA ones for £165 I have Faper in mine originally in my mk6 but now in my mk8 both are very much the same quality I modified mine I didn’t like the slight movement side to side when driving so drilled a hole in the top plate and the bottom plate and welded a nut underneath and used a bolt with a nob on top from a leg clamp from a fishing box to stop the movement got the idea from a mate who used to make his own

i've used FASP a few time without issue, way sturdyer than the £50 ones IMHO, if you have 2 single seats remember the passenger base is differant from the driver side base from the factory so check the measurments

I thought both drivers and passengers single seat base was the same.

I’ve fitted a drivers side to my mk 8 the only difference is it has the captive stiuds for the handbrake I cut off

One of my ither concerns with the swivel seat is the extra height

It depends on your body size for me being a short backside not a problem I lower the seat fully and lift it 3 movements on the lift lever

So did i till i tried fitting a drivers seat swivel to my ambulance, the passenger seat base is slightly bigger, hole spacing is differant pluss the release handle is on the other side. fasp sell 2 differant swivels, other manufacturers (or rather re sellers) seem unaware and list only 1, there are universal bases that look like swiss cheese with loads of holes.
If youve ever watch "willswearabouts" on YT he recently bought a passenger swivel for his Mk7 but as he'd used a drivers seat base on the passenger side he had ro drill the swivel to fit, no biggy but it can turn an easy 10 min job into a few hour search for drill bits big enough
