Have you had a chance to look around the cheap carpet warehouses yet, or have you thought about some heavy curtain material as its going on your bulkhead?

This sort of stuff is good and it can stretch and be shaped.. just not that thin tho...

But it is accoustic.

Only thing to watch out for is cheap carpet usually comes with a foam backing - not good. Check the SBMCC site for a whole section on hows & whys.
This might help:

This stuff is OK in my experience if you covering speakers, but if your going to use it on a bulk head panel and want material, i would be looking down the local market for some decent curtain mat (better choice of sizes) the last acoustic stuff i got was 1m by 1.4m so not enought for a bulk head, so i would advise you check the size first just in case (no disrespect dachre I'm following your tread) as the acoustic stuff will click and look shabby in no time if your not careful.

yeah , i agree about that. Although you can get very different qualities of this stuff.

I thought this would be ok for getting around shapes/curves like on the bulkhead. Its a hard thing to cover im guessing.

You can always get the normal types of automotive carpet that most campers use from ebay, ect.. the stuff that doesn rot either unlike some household carpets.

Been using Veltrim On my van

its 4mm thick, really hard wearing comes in smooth finish or ribbed, spray glue it on with high temp adhesive, my van gets used as building van in the week, and sleeping in van at weekend, a good hoovering cleans it up a treat,

some has been stuck to the body work, and some I've fixed to ply first

best place to get it , & cheaper than most, is www.megavanmats.com speak to mark knows his stuff, get the glue here too

Rainbow Conversions stock lining carpet and other DIY products. Foam back carpet is not suitable for lining. I have converted several vans and sourced most items off Ebay (second hand and new.)
