Campervan bodywork decals and stripes

Postby andyinfo » Sat Feb 07, 2009 6:25 pm

Hi

I'm converting a Hi top 90 T350 2003 into a campervan and need to make it look less like a white couriers van....A wacky respray with atlantic waves, naked women and beach would be good but I'm doing it on a budget. Anyone know of a company doing flashes, stripes and decals?

Ta in advance

Andy

just done mine mate 8) 8)
viewtopic.php?f=27&t=39432

there 16 peices in this kit for £100 of the bay
and i have experience with fitting vinyl graphics but was a proper pain in the arse
with the swage lines and window cut outs but got it done in the end
and really glad we did it makes the van look tons better IMO

look on the bay for camper graphics or try you local sign firm as they will
have these types of graphics on discs
hope that helps bud

Hi Thanks

I've seen decals and stuff before on Ebay but think I've found the shop that yours is from £99.

Your van looks great. Very similar to mine. I've really enjoyed doing it, I'm a joiner by trade so insulating and lining the interior was good fun. I'm going for simplicity, leisure battery with mains hook up for charging but sterring clear of heavy current consuming items. LED lights only.

I'll alternate between using the vans 12v on the road and swapping to the leisure battery when I go for a weekend away for the coolbox and pumping up the inflatable mattress.

Thanks again

the vinyl from that guy is suntec as far as me and my mate could work out
so its good quality and has a 7 year anti fade warranty

would be a hell of alot easier on your van as it has smooth panels and very little in the way of
body lines or panel cut outs just have patience if ya go for them and do it yourself bud :D

As wildcampers, we go for "the less noticeable the better". Mine looks like a Transit on the outside & will remain the white beauty she is.

My decals cost me £45 on ebay and only took me about an hour to fit.

Hi guys stickers are fine, but if you have the Patience, and the time why not paint them.

This is what I have done so far,it takes hours of masking up with fine line tape, then masking the bits you don't want painting,
Paint and stuff cost about thirty quid, but I have plenty left over.
The best part is you can try different designs with the tape before you paint.
Every one who has seen this van ,reckons I used vynal decals,
It took me six hours to do one side, the actual painting bit took,15 minutes.its the masking thats takes the time

Looks good, like you say it's weather people have the time and patience or not.

Hi Trigger you are quite right, even when I was doing mine, after a few hours masking I thought is it worth the hassle.
I am glad I stuck with it,
The best way to do it is, get a mate,a crate of beer, put the radio on and plod on with it.
I am getting to old for all this now ,the spirit is willing ,the body is letting me down,[a bit like a transit]lol
Its a pity I never took a photo of this transit when I first bought it,
to show the improvement in three weeks or so I have been working on it.
The tinted windows turned out ok for a first effort :x
