Night heater choices - gas or diesel?

Is there a major benefit to either gas or diesel powered for a night heater?

The camper has both available, whats best in terms of economy, diesel you pay tax on or LPG in expensive cylinders?

I've got a big carver fire fitted but it's overkill for keeping you warm over night, we have a small baby now so need to try and keep the temps above freezing inside!

I'm looking at Propex type heaters for the LPG side and Eberspacher / Webasto diesel types. Anyone got any views on either type?

for the size of camper go for the d4 airtronic eberspacher

d2 or d4 ,the gas one will be a pain as its useing your gas supply but the diesel wont notice from your tank!

Is a diesel likely to work whilst driving if the inlet and exhaust are underneath and suitably shielded?

I know it's not recommended, but the back of a coachbuilt can be pretty cold when driving except in the height of summer and passengers being able to sit without a duffel coat on could be an advantage!

Yep, just direct the exhause and combustion intake to the rear so the air pressure dont blow it out
