2 way split relay

Postby Jon Boy UK - Wales » Tue May 05, 2009 5:23 am

Hello,
i'm so pleased that i found this forum !!!!

The last time i was this excited i was a teenager on a promise after taking a girl home on a friday night after a few beers and a curry....lol :D

I have a transit lwb high roof....i'm putting together a shopping list so to speak on all the various bits and peices i need to complete the project.

I'm hoping for some advice here to do with electic side of things...
I have been told that i require a split relay to recharge the leisure battery whilst i'm driving.
I know nothing about electrics and i dont want to buy the wrong bit of kit or one thats not up to the job. Could some one point me in the right direction..I saw this at the flee bay: Item number: https://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/110384923127 and woundered is this the gadget that i need? Is it good enough or do i need a better one ...?

The idea i'm trying to acheive:
in the back of my transit i have 2 batterys one will be used much more than the other(1 for lights and a CB radio & 1 for everything else)

Do i join both batterys on the 1st feed and then could i use the 2nd feed for a fridge?

or should i do away with one of the batterys and have feed 1 for a battery and feed 2 for fridge?

could someone send me a diagram with idiot proof instructions on how to wire it all up and what amp wire to buy etc etc and anything else that will help me..

I hope the above makes some sence to you all

Many thanks in advance,

John

Do the batteries really need to be seperate after the relay? Just wire them back to back with the other output being for the fridge.

hello,
Many thanks for your replies...

I have done a search but due to my lack of knowledge in the electrics department everyones particular wiring configuration appears unique to there needs..
