About to build yet another stealth van, I Commute 90miles to work and it is getting me down, so Im getting a stealth van so I dont have to do the M62/M60 nightmare. Can get away with stopping overnight in a couple of council car parks, as long as I look like a van, not a camper, but I have to get under the 6.5 foot barrier. Got my eye on a nice 03 rwd swb low roof, but am getting a bit old to do my breaky and morning scrub bent double. The answer a pop top for the mornings. Who still makes them, I cant find anywhere, do remember there was a firm in Bolton or thereabouts but can find no trace.
Anybody know where to go for one.

You can get them, just seems to be rare...

The fibreglass pop-top VW specialist Westfalia do them for Transits also.

This is a company selling the Transit vans with the pop-tops, they call them the Westfalia Ford Transit Nugget.

Perhaps they can sell the roof on its own for you to convert.

theres loads of these on german ebay search wohnmobil - but they dont seem as popular over here

not that thats much use as they are in germany

unless your german but then again if you were you proberbly wouldnt be asking :lol:

Impressive responce folks,thats what I was looking for now Ive got the westfalia name I should be able to get hold of one. Either new (if poss) or second hand.May even be worth a weekend in Germany!
And when its down it just looks like a normal van roof, perfect for what I want, will let you all know how this progresses.

a new pop-up roof like westy, reimo is between 1200 and 2000 euros. I prefer a westfalia on the scrapyard...with nice front seats, etc etc.
