Purchased a Mk5 hi-roof and drove 500 miles to make sure it was a good runner... it is..

Straight through MoT.

Had some free TriIso Super10 from a job which came in handy.. also used rockwool to stuff into every nook n cranny.

Double insulated.

Made some internal thermal blinds too.

Bought some folding Tourneo seats which can be removed if needed to give me n dog more space when we go off travelling.

Simple basics: Portaloo, Pumped cold water to small basin, double burner and grill, single or double bed.

Glad I got the hi-roof... plenty room for standing up.

Looking for a piece of sliding door glass and a roof window/vent - similar to a caravan type.

Split charge system ordered (£17) and I may get an inverter.

anyone got any 10,000watt lamps??

Cut out door panel to fit sliding window... only 2 cut fingers..

It was a simple very neat cut (put some black paint on the bare metal - Photo 1)

Took 40mins.....

Got window from fellow member close by.. cheers lads.

I may be wrong (and I would have to go check mine) but does the smartcon split charge relay not need a negative connection to the input side? Yours just seems to have the positive connection.

Keeping going with the 'red streak' scheme from that excellent conversion by member rachelemily on here...

Sink is a stainless mixing bowl that was on offer at Tesco for £1.99.
Waste outlet was 99p from local caravan shop.
Waste pipe is the grey flexipipe from an old washing machine...
Looking for a nice piece of worktop now I know everything works.
Carpet tiles are from B&Q stuck down with evostick (dont make a mistake with this stuff - It never moves again when stuck).

There are plenty of types around, I bought some locally for a job I did and I'm glad I did. The guy in the shop was very helpful and suggested we try it one strip at a time and give it 10 minutes before deciding if that was enough light. Our initial estimate was that we would need 4 90cm strips, turned out that 2 were more then enough and ended up having them individually switched so that you could lose a lot of the light. So 2 went back to the shop.

The ones we bought had double sided tape on the back, okay for testing for location but not ideal for fixing, we ended up having to make clips to hold them in place which is fine but was just more work. Because they were slimline we didnt want to risk drilling the strip itself and going through the cable, something to consider when you are looking.
