try sending an email to: gasketsforclassics(a)tiscali.co.uk. their site is down, but they are still in business.

I purchased the top and bottom end kits there for one and a half month ago

`My thanks also. A friend who happens to be needing a lot of parts after a flood will need this. I'll email the link.

Worth knowing before you commit to a full rebuild: the 3.5 York is a tough old lump, and a hard-starting engine that only fires on Easy Start doesn't always mean worn bores. Do a compression test first. If it's low on all cylinders, then sure, strip it, but low compression on just one or two could be valves or a tired head gasket, which is a much cheaper fix.

For oversize pistons, a decent engine reconditioner is usually your best bet. A lot of them can source or re-make pistons and valves for old Ford diesels, and they'll bore and hone the block while they're at it. Ring and piston sets are listed under the 0509 engine reference (same one Sven mentioned for the rings), so quote that when you're asking around. Worth also asking the A-series owners' club or posting your engine number here, as someone will probably know who has NOS pistons sitting on a shelf.
areas that mostly tyre fitting company don't cover in uk.
